Guy McPherson in New Zealand

Whether or not you like the interview style over the 1-hour-long interview Prof Guy McPherson has the chance to explain why human and industrial civilisation is in terminal decline and the sort of living arrangements (agrarian anarchy) he would like to see replace this, as well as the moves he has made to live in community where he lives in New Mexico.

There should be a video of his talk in Petone, New Zealand soon,.

  1. I look forward to the video of the Petone talk, Kim Hill was easier on him than some of the people at the talk.If he can stand up to that sort of interogation when he's clogged up with a cold close to laryngitis etc.

  3. I have to commend the interviewer here for asking awkward questions that needed to be asked.... thank you for doing such a fine job of researching and discussing the issues. I must also commend Guy for his most thoughtful responses and his thinking on his feet replies..it was most enlightening and very useful to listen to the end results of the conversation.

  4. Unfortunately, Kim interrupted too often, even soon after Guy started to answer a fairly long question from Kim. He cottoned on to this in one reply where he asked for 30 seconds to answer the question. I know Kim has this approach but she was far less interrupting with Nicole Foss.

  5. Yes, she did interrupt. Incessantly --and every time it was because the interviewee was on the verge of shutting her down full stop with a cogent reply to a less than sincere inquiry. Pretty standard "journalist" technique if you ask me. The closer he came to a bullseye the more insistent her talking over him to not lose control of her script.

  6. #Notmy Realname - You've hit the nail on the head and identified the technique of Kim Hill in realtionship to Guy McPherson, David Suzuki, or anyone else who has something important to say"
