Obama made the comments at a joint news conference with the British premier, after a G7 summit in the Belgian capital Brussels. He said Moscow has violated basic international laws in its approach towards Ukraine. Obama said the G7 leaders are united in their condemnation of Russia's violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He added that the G7 countries want Russia to seize the current opportunity and engage in direct talks with the president-elect of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko in order to help settle the crisis in the east European country.
